Cryptids and Creatures

CRYPTIDS AND CREATURES

Field Encounters and Biophysical Anomalies

While many alleged sightings are dismissed as folklore, misidentification, or outright hoax, Loud Investigations has always maintained a tiered classification system for Cryptozoological Entities. Whether a mangy dog glimpsed in the fog or a creature bleeding mana through the bark of an elm tree, patterns emerge with enough field reports.

Cryptids and Creatures are classified separately from traditional Paranormal Entities due to their corporeal or semi-corporeal structure. That is: they leave tracks, they break fences, they stare back. Many exhibit behaviors more akin to wildlife than specters — but that doesn’t make them any less dangerous or misunderstood.

Some appear biologically native to Earth; others are clearly not. A few seem tied to Aystryl Tears or areas where magical experimentation occurred mid-century. Most do not last long under study. But when they do appear, they often appear together, suggesting territory, migration patterns, or — worse — nesting.

Known Classifications

  • Shadow Felids – Silent, low-light predators reported near power lines and riverbeds.
  • Thrum Frogs – Amphibians that generate low-frequency vibrations; suspected to disrupt local time perception.
  • Walkers – Thin, humanlike forms seen mimicking rural motion patterns. Possibly tethered to cultural memory or myth.
  • Limb Tangle – Entangling creature composed of severed limbs or branch-like structures; often vanishes post-contact.
  • Milk Elk – Pale ungulates whose trails stain the earth. Associated with maternal grief and unusual lactation residue.
  • Cabinet Dwellers – Diminutive creatures found in cupboards, vents, or file cabinets. Usually harmless unless provoked or observed directly.
